A Crossroads Foundation Partner School

Mission Statement
Recognizing that every student is an individual child of God and an integral part of his/her home, school, neighborhood, nation, and global communities, it is the mission of Saint John Bosco Academy to provide the opportunity for our students to obtain an unparalleled faith-based education, centered on the teachings of Christ and committed to academic excellence.
St. John Bosco (1815-88), for whom this newest consortium Catholic grade school is named, was an Italian priest whose vocation was to evangelize and educate young people. He founded the Salesian order, which has a worldwide mission to care and form young people with special compassion for those most vulnerable and in need. St. John Bosco was beloved for his warm, playful approach and tireless service.
Catholic education remains strong and vibrant in the Diocese of Pittsburgh..
In addition to the current sponsoring parishes in Pittsburgh's Brookline neighborhood of St. Pius X, Resurrection and Our Lady of Loreto, five parishes will join the restructured school.
Those parishes are
-
St. Catherine of Siena in Beechview,
-
St. Mary of the Mount in Mount Washington,
-
Prince of Peace on the South Side,
-
St. Pamphilus in Beechview and
-
St. John Vianney in the city's Hilltop neighborhood.
St. John Bosco Academy will continue to serve students from throughout the southern neighborhoods of Pittsburgh.
